BECOME A PAMA MEMBER
PAMA works to promote the Point Arena business community and the natural beauty of our area through its brochure, merchants list, special events, civic engagement and working with City and County officials to promote and publicize Point Arena businesses. Some examples of how PAMA has fulfilled its mission to create a sustainable community that attracts residents and visitors, promotes, supports and retains local businesses while nurturing the unique character of its regional artisans and entrepreneurs include:
• Annual creation, publication and distribution of the PAMA business guide and map;
• Inclusion in the Mendocino County Business Improvement District and expanded support from VisitMendocino.com;
• Presentation, promotion and management of special events such as Hometown Holidays, Almost Fringe Festival, Downtown Halloween;
• Support of City events such as the Fourth of July and Harbor & Seafood Festival;
• Design and procurement of “Welcome to Point Arena” street lamp banners;
• Creation of radio ads promoting Point Arena as a tourist and shopping destination that run on KOZT and KRSH.
PAMA is extremely proud of these accomplishments and could not have achieved them without your membership. We want to insure that all current PAMA members continue to be part of this organization, but also recognize that this unprecedented year has had and continues to have a profound effect on Point Arena businesses.
In order to help you stay an active member or become a part of our PAMA community we offer the following to remain or become a PAMA member:
• Pay your regular dues. No increases this year!
• Pay what you can. Take off up to 50% of your regular dues if you need to
• Apply to be adopted. If you cannot pay any amount this year, ask for help from PAMA. We have an Adopt a Business program where other PAMA members or caring community members will pay for your membership. Simply check the Adopt a Business box on your application.

ADOPT A BUSINESS PROGRAM
PAMA works to promote the Point Arena business community and the natural beauty of our area through its brochure, merchants list, special events, civic engagement and working with City and County officials to promote and publicize Point Arena businesses.
We recognize that Point Arena businesses can be financially struggling to stay open and payment of their PAMA dues may be difficult. Because of this PAMA created the “Adopt a Business” program in 2021 to help businesses stay part of PAMA and receive the many benefits membership provides.
Many businesses took advantage of this program since its inception and it has become a permanent PAMA program with a growing balance in the fund. We are asking the local community to contribute to the “Adopt a Business” fund. The outpouring of community support for local businesses since the program started has been very inspiring and greatly appreciated, and it demonstrates the level of support that this community has for its local businesses.
“Shopping Local” is a hallmark of the coastal community and it helps local businesses provide us all with incredibly diverse and important products and services. This fund will also help our newest businesses in Point Arena enjoy the benefits of PAMA membership and we hope that will help them be successful.
Many PAMA members have already committed to funding memberships for other businesses that need help. The PAMA “Adopt a Business” program allows the local community to make donations to PAMA to offer assistance to Point Arena businesses in paying their 2024 dues.
If you have a particular Point Arena business that you wish to support, you can specify that your donation be used for that specific business. The membership dues range from $60 to $300 depending on the type of business.
Please consider donating what you can to help your local businesses continue to benefit from PAMA’s work on their behalf, and to continue to provide you with the incredibly diverse and important products and services that our remote coastal community depends on.
You can participate in the PAMA “Adopt a Business” program by filling out the Adopt a Business application and returning it to PAMA with your contribution. PAMA is a 501(c)(6) corporation and donations to the “Adopt a Business” program typically qualify as charitable contributions under Section 170(c) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Talk to your tax professional about your specific tax situation.
