We are two hours from Santa Rosa, a little over three hours from the Bay Area and four hours from Sacramento.
When traveling to Point Arena, relax and take the time to enjoy the views. But remember you are sharing the road with locals who know and love those curves, so please pull over and let faster vehicles pass.
Also, Be careful when consulting your GPS location systems, as many a tourist has ignored the directions below only to end up on a steep and windy gravel road dirt road. Unless you have traveled them before, avoid Mountain View Road, Skaggs Creek Road and Fish Rock Road. Stick to CA highways 101, 20, 128 and 1.
Remember, when sharing our scenic highways, always:
• Use the pullouts to let others pass you.
• Gas up! Gas stations are few and far between on our highways.
• Give at least three feet of clearance when passing bicyclists.
• Stick to main roads; avoid GPS suggestions to take back roads.
